Central Illinois Bank Robbery

Yesterday at approximately 2:22 p.m., Champaign Police Officers were dispatched to Central IL Bank for a report of a robbery.

Police received information that a white male, mid 40′s, average build, clean-shaven, 5’7″ tall and wearing a blue or light-green long sleeved shirt, black cap with writing on it entered the business demanding money. The suspect handed the teller a note and left with an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency. He was last seen heading southbound on State Street. Witnesses report that the suspect acted as if he had a gun, though one was never actually displayed. No injuries were reported by bank employees or the two patrons that were in the bank at the time.
