Varsity Striping, Inc has completed the 2010 Pavement Marking Project.
Thermoplastic (thermo) is used on asphalt streets as outlined in the Pavement Marking Master Plan. Paint is used on concrete streets (thermo does not adhere well to concrete). A brief description of the type and status of work is included below.
Bike Lanes: Locations included in this work are State Street between Bradley Avenue and Hessel Road and Randolph in its entirety. Bike lanes include a mixture of both thermo and paint.
Thermo Line Truck: Locations included in this work are Church Street between Neil Street and State Street. This work includes all of the long lines on asphalt roads. Long lines are lane lines (solid white), center lines (solid double yellow) and skip dashes.
Thermo Hand Cart Crew: Locations included in this work are Church Street between Neil Street and State Street and Staley Road at Springfield Avenue. This includes stop bars, crosswalks, turn arrows, and long lines within 100ft of the intersection.
Paint Crew: Locations included in this work are Windsor Road from Neil Street east to City limits and Mattis Ave from Kirby Avenue to Windsor Road. The paint crew first paints the long lines then returns to complete the handwork. Their hand work includes radii around islands and diagonal lines within painted islands.
