A total of 277 service requests from citizens and City staff were recorded during March 2012 in the Public Works’ Dispatch Office. This was an increase of 68 requests (32.5%) from the previous month’s count of 209. The chart below tracks the number of requests recorded each day by staff.
On March 12, the Public Works Department transitioned from the desktop version of its work order and asset management system to the server version. As a result, the system was unavailable until March 14. That is the reason for the spike of 44 service requests on March 15; Monday and Tuesday’s requests were all entered into the system on that date as well as the ones that were called in.
The Asphalt Section received the greatest number of calls for service with 73 (26%). The most frequent request was for pothole repair (66), followed by dead animal pickup (24) requests. In third place were sewer backup complaints (21).
