The Champaign Police Department Commemorates National Police Week

Each May during National Police Week (May 13-19, 2011), the nation pauses to recognize the service and sacrifice of U.S. law enforcement. Local law enforcement agencies in Champaign County will join the nation in honoring men and women who lost their lives in the line of duty. Champaign Police will pay a special tribute to their Fallen Officers, Thomas Dodsworth and Robert Tatman.

What: Champaign Police Memorial Day Service
When: Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 11:30 a.m.
Where: Westside Park (corner of Church and State St.) at the City of Champaign Memorial Site.

At noon, a police vehicle processional will travel to the Champaign County Courthouse for a countywide ceremony honoring fallen Champaign County and State of Illinois Officers.
