A total of 324 service requests from citizens and City staff were recorded during May 2012 in the Public Works Department. This was an increase of 64 requests (25%) from the previous month’s count of 260. The chart below tracks the number of requests recorded each day by staff.
On May 7 the department received a surge of calls, but there was no apparent reason for it. Almost a quarter (10) of the 44 calls received that day was for pothole repair.
The Sewer Section received the greatest number of requests at 101 (31%). Sixty-nine of their calls were for miscellaneous requests, e.g., dead animal, abandoned bicycles, etc., and 38 were related to actual sewer problems. The Forestry Section received the second greatest number of calls at 59 (18%). The most frequent requests were for pothole repair (37), dead animal pickup (33), and tree pruning (20).
