Beginning Tuesday, June 12, the City of Champaign Public Works Building located at 702 Edgebrook Drive will be closed to visitors for remodeling. People having business with the Department are asked to go across the street to 713 Edgebrook Drive (the Parking Programs Office) for assistance. Customer service hours are 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The public may continue to use the current Public Works public phone numbers (217) 403-4700, 403-4710 and 403-4770 and email address [email protected]. The Public Works building is expected to re-open to visitors in the fall.
The Public Works Department responds to questions about or request for services to City infrastructure such as streets, sidewalks, traffic signals, sewers, City trees as well as other City services like recycling, parking, equipment rentals and lost/stolen bicycle storage. The Department is comprised of the Administrative Services, Engineering and Operations Divisions.
