Stark Excavating has begun working on the Fourth Street extension between St. Mary’s Road and Windsor Road. The project consists of constructing a new pavement with streetlights, PCC sidewalks, widening of Windsor to accommodate turn lanes, and a traffic signal on Windsor. Stark has started removing the top soil from the project limits and has begun filling three lagoons that are located within the roadway. Storm sewer work is expected to begin in about three weeks. Stark had removed 12 trees from the project limits that interfered with the roadway construction. During review of the trees for removal, staff determined that two trees scheduled for removal could be saved. The project is on schedule and on budget for a fall completion date in 2013.
