Extreme temperatures and a lack of rain are taking their toll on landscaping throughout the City. The City’s landscape maintenance contractor is taking steps to minimize damage to the vegetation along the Boneyard Creek 2nd Street Reach detention basins.
Starting last week, the contractor is watering landscape beds, turf grass, rain gardens and shoreline vegetation. In addition, tree bags have been placed around the trees to ensure that they are receiving water during the dry spell. The bags are being rotated so that each tree receives water at least every other day. Until the dry spell ends, the contractor will continue to do their best to keep this area as green and beautiful as possible.
