On Friday, August 3, 2012 “Outside at the Research Park” hosted the Green Fair. The Green Fair organizers invited the C-U Safe to Routes Project to hold a children’s bike rodeo. From 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm bike rodeo volunteers assisted children while they practiced bike handling and safety skills. City Planner Mishauno Woggon helped organize the event. Approximately 30 children participated in the bike rodeo. One young participant rode on a bike with training wheels for her first ride in the bike rodeo. The second time she rode a bike without training wheels. Another bike rodeo is planned for October with the Champaign Park District.
