Last week, we were able to construct approximately 2255 LF of Fourth Street before the rains stopped the paving operations. Stark Excavating was able to complete the final 1790 LF of the southbound lane of Fourth Street on Tuesday. Stark Excavating will now begin working on connecting the Fourth Street pavement to St. Mary’s Road. This work, along with placing the asphalt surface on St. Mary’s Road, should be completed before the next home football game for the U of I. Stark Excavating plans on paving both Gerty and the east half of Hazelwood by the end of this month, weather permitting. This project is on schedule and on budget for a fall completion date in 2013.
