Fire Prevention 2012 Grand Finale

The 2012 October fire prevention season drew to a close with a rise in community donations, hours of public service to the citizens, and an increase in partnership activities. All fire personnel from all stations, along with the Life Safety Division, observed and critiqued school fire drills at Unit Four and all other private grade, middle, and high schools in Champaign. Additionally, CFD enjoyed a spectacular dinner with the City Council at Fire Headquarters and participated in Walk as One in the Bristol Neighborhood. The Passport to Safety Adventure occurred in spite of torrential rains and lightning. This year’s partners grew to include the American Red Cross, Carle Arrow Ambulance, Champaign Police, Champaign Public Library, Fire and Police Memorial Committee, FF Dayna and Dalmatian Tango, METCAD 9-1-1 and the Mass Transit District.
