Public Works Department Training

Recently, Public Works staff participated in a four-hour defensive driving training class provided by Bill Bloch at CCMSI. This training focused on recognizing hazards, understanding the defense, and acting correctly in time. The class also watched intense videos showing the impacts of distracted drivers. Defensive driving helps to save lives, time, and money, in spite of the conditions around you and the actions of others. The 86 participants from Public Works will receive a course Certificate of Completion provided by the National Safety Council.

Staff also attended a shorter session which combined training for bloodborne pathogens, hazard communication, personal protective equipment, and lifting.
