The City of Champaign will honor Vera L. Wesley by dedicating a portion of Eureka Street, between Fourth Street and Sixth Street, as Honorary Vera L. Wesley Way. The honorary street signs will be unveiled on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. during a ceremony at the northeast corner of Fifth Street and Eureka Street in Champaign.
Ms. Wesley is known as being an activist in her neighborhood to abolish crime and for her compassion for her community.
