A new permit for the Mobile Food Truck Pilot Project was recently issued to The Empanadas House which serves up to 20 different empanadas. Food truck operator Juan Luis Olarte has begun selling in Campustown and Downtown this week. There are currently six permits issued under the Mobile Food Truck Pilot Project. It is expected that several of the trucks will begin operating more regularly this spring and summer. The pilot project is scheduled to end June 30, 2013 and a study session with City Council is scheduled for May 28th to determine the next steps. During the month of April, permit holders as well as Downtown and Campustown businesses will be given the opportunity to provide comments on the pilot project for the City Council to consider in May.
