Country Fair Drive will be CLOSED to through traffic between Springer Drive and Church Street to complete emergency pavement repairs. The repairs will begin on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, weather permitting, and will be completed by the end of the day Wednesday, May 8, 2013.
The location had been identified for concrete pavement patching planned to take place within the next few weeks under traffic. However, the pavement failed suddenly over the weekend due to the combination of wet soil conditions and the weakened pavement. The road was closed in the interest of public safety.
Drivers should re-route to Mattis Avenue when traveling northbound or southbound. Specifically, northbound traffic should head east on University Avenue to Mattis Avenue, eastbound traffic from Interstate 72 should continue east to Mattis Avenue, and southbound traffic should head east on Springer Drive to Mattis Avenue.
