The Champaign Police Department arrested Shaundrell D. Brown (18), Jonathan E.C. Brumfield (23), both of Champaign and Devin A. Lindsey (19) of Rantoul in connection to a report of a shooting. No one was injured during this incident and police have not located any victims. It appears this may be a random act that occurred in the 1300 block of N. Champaign St. around 11:00 PM on May 6, 2013.
Officers responded to a report of shots fired where subjects were reported to be shooting from a red SUV. Officers observed the red SUV leaving the area and followed it to an address in the 400 block of Louisiana. Police observed one suspect entering the residence and two more were located in the back yard. Officers also located spent shell casing inside the SUV.
Officers were able to make contact with the residents of the home and safely removed them. The officers then located the third suspect and a handgun inside the residence.
