Peach Street Closure

As part of the City’s 2013 Concrete Street Maintenance Project, the pavement on Peach Street from Ashley Lane South to Devonshire Drive will be rehabilitated. The City’s contractor, GM Sipes Construction, will continue working, weather permitting, on Monday, June 24, 2013.

Beginning Monday, June 24, Peach Street will be temporarily a one-lane, one-way street from Devonshire Drive to Ashley Lane South (from south to north). The contractor will provide a flagger as needed to help direct traffic. Please be aware that there will also be temporary lane closures adjacent to the work while the new concrete is being placed. Peach Street will remain open to local and emergency traffic only. This work involves replacement of some portions of the pavement, sidewalk repairs and lawn restoration.

Please pay close attention to construction signs and traffic control devices. Please do not park on the street near the construction site or in areas that are posted “No Parking”. Please proceed cautiously through construction zones and use alternate routes whenever possible. The contractor will attempt to complete construction activities as soon as possible to minimize any inconvenience to the residents in the areas of construction.

The City of Champaign would like to thank you for your cooperation and patience during this construction season. A map showing this location along with all 2013 City Engineering Division projects can be found at www.ci.champaign.il.us/pwd, click on “2013 Construction Maps” under “Timely Topics.”
