John Ruffin, Neighborhood Coordinator, organized a meeting of the residents of O’Connor Court. The meeting was organized at the request of neighbors to respond to what they considered to be code and criminal concerns related to several properties on the block. Property Maintenance Inspector Tim Spear met with the homeowner to discuss and address the code concerns. Neighborhood Coordination worked with the homeowners to respond to the problem property by contacting the Champaign Police Department concerning the suspected sale/use of illegal drugs. They responded with a drug raid on the property of concern. Champaign Police also attended the homeowner meeting held on Sunday, August 18 to discuss forming a new group.
