The City of Champaign will honor Danny Nardi by dedicating a portion of Galen Drive, between Ross Drive and Lancaster Drive, as Honorary Danny Nardi Way. The honorary street signs will be unveiled on Friday, September 27, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. during a ceremony at the intersection of Galen Drive and Lancaster Drive in Champaign.
Danny Nardi is being honored for his positive attitude, unwillingness to give up, and his five-year fight against Stage 4 neuroblastoma. Danny was a role model for his classmates and everyone whose life was touched by him in his short 10 years. Danny Nardi passed away on March 7, 2013, six days before his eleventh birthday.
