Library FriendShop Expands Hours and Sales

Library FriendShop

FriendShop Volunteer Maxine Kaler

The Champaign Public Library Friends continue their long-standing tradition of selling used books to raise money for the library. They have progressed from holding an annual sale to running a used book store, made possible when the new library building afforded them a space of their own.

In addition to recently increasing the hours of the FriendShop, the Friends are now selling donated books on Amazon. The online sales grow each week as Friends volunteers fulfill orders and add more titles.

This past year, the Friends provided more than $56,000 to the library for programs and collections. With the expanded hours and online sales, they expect to contribute even more in the coming year.
