Narrative: Champaign Fire Department responded to a report of a working fire at 1107 Lincolnshire on Tuesday October 9th. Fire Station 4 units arrived first and found a single story house with a semi-attached garage and the garage area fully involved with fire. Crews deployed hose lines to the garage area and to the residential portion of the house. One person was home at the time of the fire. Two citizens, that were doing work a block from the fire, reported the fire and then removed the occupant from the house prior to the fire department’s arrival. The occupant was transported by medic units on the scene and treated for smoke inhalation. One firefighter was also injured while on the scene. The firefighter was transported to Carle Foundation Hospital where he was treated and released.
