Once again, the City has received the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Award for the Fiscal Year 2013/14 adopted budget document. The City has received this award annually for 23 years, demonstrating a strong commitment to producing the highest quality budget document that reflects the guidelines and best practices established by GFOA and the National Advisory Council on State and Local Budgeting.
The annual budget document was reviewed by selected members of the GFOA professional staff and other experienced public-sector budgeting professionals throughout the United States and Canada. Each year Finance staff uses the feedback from these reviews to improve the budget document.
Additionally, by creating, submitting, and transmitting the document electronically, the Finance staff continues to further the City’s sustainability efforts (#greenchampaign).
