Fire in the Dorm: A True Story of Family, Friends & Faith
The City’s Information Technologies Department recently completed the production of a fire safety video titled “Fire in the Dorm: A True Story of Family, Friends and Faith”. This video features Fire Engineer Dave Tomlinson interviewing fire survivors Alvaro Llanos and Shawn Simons. Shawn and Alvaro were in Champaign last September to talk with Fire Department personnel and campus leaders about a tragic dorm fire at Seton Hall University that left both of them severely burned.
In this video, the two continue that conversation and discuss campus fire safety, the need to overcome adversity, and recount their tale of survival, perseverance, and faith. This video plays regularly on CGTV and is available on-demand on the City’s website, and YouTube. CGTV staff thank all those who helped make this video possible.
