Parking Meter Collections During Snow Cleanup
Champaign – Residents and visitors to the downtown and campus areas may encounter parking meters that read ‘fail’ over the next few days. The reason for this is that parking meters may malfunction when they become full and cannot accept additional coins. During extreme weather, staff that perform parking meter collection are reassigned to snow & ice removal duties. These ‘failed’ meters will not be enforced while the City completes its snow plowing operations and staff return to normal duties collecting the meters.
