Green Street Public Open House

On Wednesday, March 12, 2014 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., the City of Champaign will host an introductory Public Open House at the Champaign Public Library, 200 West Green Street. This open house will introduce the Green Street Phase III project to attendees and seek public input on preliminary design concepts for the Green Street corridor from Fourth Street to Neil Street.

The open house represents the official kick off to the City’s $6 million dollar Green Street Phase III project.  This project will develop design concepts for the corridor from Fourth Street to Neil Street and construct improvements from Fourth Street to First Street in 2016. This open house is the first opportunity to provide public input on the concepts and design elements to be considered for Green Street.

Visitors will be able to view exhibit boards providing information on potential project elements including infrastructure improvements, enhancements to bicycle and pedestrian facilities, streetscape features, and landscaping. City staff and consultant representatives will be present at various stations throughout the open house seeking input and answering questions.

Additional information and the opportunity to sign up for future updates regarding the project can be found on the project website at http://www.buildinggreenstreet.com/
