A warrant has been issued for the arrest of EDUARDO GUERRO CORTEZ, for Aggravated Battery, a Class Three Felony, with a bond of $1,000,000.
Eduardo Guerro Cortez is a suspect who is sought in the alleged abduction of MONICA RAMIREZ, 19, of Champaign. The abduction occurred at Market Place Mall yesterday at approximately 4:05 p.m.
The suspect also uses the following aliases: Eduardo Guerrero and Edward Guerrero.
Eduardo Guerro Cortez was last seen in a red 2002 Chevrolet Silverado extended cab pickup truck, with Illinois license 92502H. It has a silver tool box in the bed of the pickup truck and aluminum rims.
He is described as a 25 year-old Hispanic male, 5’5” tall, and weighing approximately 145 pounds. His last known address was reported to be in the Houston, Texas area. He was last seen wearing a red hat, a t-shirt with red, white, and brown horizontal stripes, and long blue shorts.

- Piercing on right eyebrow and lower lip;
- Eduardo is believed to be living in Texas, but did live in Rantoul, IL several years
A second suspect is also being sought by police. He is described as a Hispanic male with
short hair, and was last seen wearing a red shirt and blue shorts. It was reported that he
was armed with 12″ black knife.
The Champaign Police Department is currently searching for the victim, MONICA RAMIREZ, and is investigating this incident with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Champaign Police are sharing this information with law enforcement agencies in our area and throughout the state. The Department is asking the public to report any possible sightings to police by calling 9-1-1 immediately.
