Champaign Police Investigate Shooting

On Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at approximately 1:02 P.M., a Champaign Police Department officer on patrol in the 1000 block of W. Bradley Ave. was flagged down by a 17-year-old Champaign man. This individual reported to officers he had been shot, and sustained an injury consistent with a gunshot wound.

Due to the apparent injuries, Champaign Police Department officers requested an ambulance, and the injured man was transported to Carle Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Champaign Police Detectives are currently continuing the investigation into this incident. As a result, a Champaign County arrest warrant was issued for Actavious D. Crockett for the offense of Armed Violence with a bond of $750,000 in connection with this incident. Actavious is a 19-year-old black male with a last known address in the 1000 block of Juniper Dr. in Rantoul, Illinois and was last seen fleeing the scene in a dark colored, two-door Oldsmobile sedan.

The Champaign Police Department is actively investigating this incident, and is seeking the community’s assistance with this crime. Anyone with additional information on the incident or the whereabouts of Actavious
