NOFA Award Funding

Each year, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) issues a Notice Of Funding Availability (NOFA) for homelessness-related services. The 2014 NOFA was announced several months earlier than usual, and was due at the end of October 2014.  In January 2015, the Champaign County Continuum of Care (CoC) was notified it was awarded a total of $843,875 for various projects, representing an overall increase of 11%.  Most projects within the NOFA application were funded at the same level as the previous year, although projects with permanent supportive housing applications saw a reduction.  Three new projects were funded through the Champaign County Regional Planning Commision (RPC), including expansions of Shelter Plus Care and the data-tracking system HMIS, and a new Rapid Re-Housing effort.
