Champaign Fire Department responded to 1502 Maplecrest Dr. on February 19, 2015 at 11:54 a.m. Upon arrival, fire crews found light smoke emitting from the attached garage area of the structure. Fire crews advanced a single hand line to the front of the structure and advanced to the attached garage area. Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire. Two workers were at the residents at the time of the fire and were able to evacuate on their own. No injuries to fire personnel were reported. One occupant was treated at the scene for minor smoke inhalation. Champaign Police Department assisted with traffic control. The Champaign Fire Department encourages citizens to keep combustible materials a safe distance from potential ignition sources.
