402 Briar Dr. Fire Casue Determined
Champaign Fire Department Investigators have determined the cause of the fire at 402 Briar Ln. to be accidental. Through scene examination and witness interviews it was determined that maintenance personnel had been using a heat gun to thaw frozen water pipes in the crawl space area of the structure. These pipes were located in a plumbing chase wall that ran from the crawl space through the second floor.
