Champaign Police Investigate Bank Robbery

On March 19 at approximately 10:01 AM, Champaign Police responded to the Marine Bank, located at 1001 S. Neil Street for a reported bank robbery alarm.  Upon arrival, it was determined that an Armed Robbery had occurred and an undetermined amount of currency had been taken from the business.  No injuries were reported by bank employees.

The armed robbery suspect is described as a thin, black male, approximately 25 years of age, approximately 5’06” in height and weighing approximately 160 pounds. The suspect was described as wearing a Captain America costume shirt, which is red, white, and blue colored with a large star on the chest. The mask displays the letter “A” on the front and partially covers the suspect’s face.

The suspect also wore dark colored pants with white striping on the side of the pant leg and white colored tennis shoes. The suspect was armed with a handgun and last seen fleeing from the bank on foot toward Randolph Street.  Champaign Police are investigating this incident. No arrests have been made at this time.
