Champaign Police Investigate Shooting

On Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at approximately 7:30 PM, Champaign Police responded to a report of shots being fired in the area of  900 N. Harris. Within a couple of minutes police received a report of a gunshot victim in the 700 block of Sherwood Terrace. The victim is a 16 year-old male and the injury is not life threatening.

According to the victim, he had gotten off an MTD bus in the area of Beardsley and Elm when a black male in his 20’s, wearing all black clothing, and a black hat started shooting at him.

At this time, Champaign Police do not have any additional suspect information or an exact location where the incident took place.
