On Friday, May 29 at 9:15 am, Barkstall School staff, students and a variety of community members will gather for the unveiling of a new private street name of Learning Lane. Learning Lane is the private street that connects Curtis Road with Hallbeck Drive.
The Planning and Public Works Departments combined efforts with Barkstall School staff to give the students an opportunity to name the private street. The students voted for their favorite street name. The winning name was approved by METCAD and Champaign County.
Public Works Department will install new street signs at the two locations of Curtis Road and Learning Lane and at Hallbeck Drive and Learning Lane on May 28. Barkstall School will celebrate the new private street name of Learning Lane with a parade after the unveiling.
