UPDATE: Arrest Made in Shooting Investigation

On Monday, June 8 at approximately 8:25 PM, Champaign Police responded to the 900 Block of N. Fourth Street for reports of multiple shots fired.  While on the scene, officers were advised of two gunshot victims that arrived at Carle and Presence Hospitals.  The injured subjects were being treated for non-life threatening gunshot injuries.

Later overnight, at approximately 2:30 AM on June 9, officers responded to another report of multiple shots fired on the 1000 Block of West Bradley Avenue, where multiple shots were fired at a residential property.  Champaign Police Detectives continue to investigate both incidents.

On June 10, 2015, Champaign Police Detectives arrested Phillip J. Cobb, a 20-year-old male from Champaign for the offense of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm. Cobb was arrested in connection with the shooting that occurred on June 8, 2015 in the 900 block of N. Fourth St.

Champaign Police ask that anyone with information regarding these incident to please call the Champaign Police Investigation Division at (217) 351-4545 or Crime Stoppers at (217) 373-8477.

Champaign Police reminds citizens that information submitted to Crime Stoppers is anonymous.  Calls are routed to a third-party national call center that receives your information, completes a tips information form, and then passes the information to the appropriate law enforcement agency.

Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for these crimes.
