Color Run 5-K – Street Closures

The Color Run will be making a stop in Champaign on Saturday, October 17, 2015. The race will have an 8:00 AM start, with a starting line location at the northeast corner of Market Place Mall, near Market Street.   Deemed “the Happiest 5K on the Planet”, the Color Run is a unique paint race that celebrates healthiness, happiness, and individuality.

In preparation of the race, Champaign Police provides notice that the following streets will be closed or will have limited access from approximately 6:45 AM – 10:30 AM on October 17:

>>Town Center Boulevard, from the Market Place Mall Perimeter Road to Prospect Avenue will be closed.

  • To access businesses along the south side of Town Center Boulevard, motorists should utilize Moreland Boulevard.
  • To access businesses along the north side of Town Center Boulevard, motorists should utilize entrances off Prospect Avenue.

>>Neil Street will be open to northbound and southbound traffic.

The following streets will be reduced to one-lane on each side of the road:

>>Moreland Boulevard from Town Center Boulevard to Anthony Drive will be open for two-way traffic on the east side of the road.

>>Anthony Drive from Moreland Boulevard to Pinnacle Drive will be open for two-way traffic on the south side of the road.

>>Marketview Drive from Pinnacle Drive to Center Drive will be open for two-way traffic on the north side of the roadway.

>>Center Drive from Marketview Drive to Neil Street will be open for two-way traffic on the east side of the roadway.

 
Drivers should be mindful of an increase in vehicle and pedestrian traffic, as well as an increase in vehicle parking due to the event.  For more information about the Color Run, including race route details, please visit www.thecolorrun.com/champaign.
