The GREEN APPLE DAY OF MULCHING at Garden Hills Elementary on Saturday, October 17 was a big success! Volunteers from the City of Champaign Neighborhood Services Department, Champaign Park District, Unit 4 Schools/Garden Hills Elementary & BLDD Architects participated in the final phase of the Day of Service, in spite of brisk conditions. The volunteer effort completed the portion of the project that was rained out on September 19.
This will help the school through the fall/winter/spring. The goal is to accomplish some planting in the spring, in line with the original design/vision for these areas.
