Champaign Police Investigate Bank Robbery

On October 28, 2015 at approximately 10:59 AM, Champaign Police responded to First Financial Bank, located at 1611 S. Prospect Ave. for a reported bank robbery.

Upon arrival, it was determined an Armed Robbery had occurred and an undetermined amount of currency had been taken from the business by an unknown male suspect who was armed with a handgun. No injuries were reported by bank employees.

The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 28 years of age, approximately 5’10” in height, weighing approximately 175 pounds, and having a goatee beard. The suspect wore eyeglasses and has pierced ears and a pierced nose.

The suspect was wearing an orange hardhat, a neon yellow vest over a dark colored hooded sweatshirt. The suspect also wore dark colored pants and was last seen fleeing from the bank on foot toward Prospect Ave.

Champaign Police are investigating this incident.  No arrests have been made at this time. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Champaign Police at 217-351-4545.
