Working House Fire – 1604 Harbor Point Drive

 

The Champaign Fire Department responded to a working house fire at 1604 Harbor Point Drive, Friday, December 4, 2015 at 6:22 p.m.  Upon arrival on the scene, fire crews reported smoke showing from the front of the residence.  Fire suppression began immediately.

Nine (9) pieces of Fire/Rescue/EMS equipment and approximately twenty-six (26) emergency response personnel responded to the call.  Captain Roger Cruse was the commanding officer of this incident.  The fire was brought under control at 6:54 p.m.  No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.

The house sustained minor damage from the fire.  The origin and cause of the fire was determined to be at the front of the structure and was accidental.

 The Champaign Fire Department reminds all citizens to maintain a working smoke alarm in their place of residence and to have and practice a home escape plan.
