New Art Exhibit in Council Chambers

The revolving art exhibit in Council Chambers was recently updated and now features the work of local artist Lisa Kesler.  Ms. Kesler is a full-time studio artist with a studio proudly located in downtown Champaign.   A University of Illinois graduate, Ms. Kesler experiments in a variety of media, but primarily focuses on acrylic painting, encaustic painting, and linoleum block printmaking.  Her works have been exhibited around the country and are included in a number of private collections.

In 2015, the City began collaborating with 40 North on a revolving art exhibit which showcases local artists’ work in the City Council Chambers of the Champaign City Building, 102 N Neil Street, Champaign.  Ms. Kesler’s exhibit will remain on display for approximately three months and is available for public viewing during public meetings and other events held in City Council Chambers.
