In order to install underground electric utility, Ameren Illinois will close Walnut Street between Washington Street and Columbia Avenue. The lane closure will begin on Monday, April 4 and will re-open by Monday, April 11. Northbound Walnut Street traffic will be forced to turn either east or west onto Washington Street. Through traffic will not be allowed, but access to local properties will be maintained.
