Police Continue Investigations into Missing Person Ashley Chemere Gibson

Reported as missing on April 19, 2016, Police continue investigations into the disappearance of 24-year-old Ashley Chemere Gibson of Champaign.

Missing and Endangered Person - Ashley C. GibsonLast seen on Sunday, April 17, (with an updated time) at approximately 10:00PM, Ashley was reported as being in the area of Northwest Champaign visiting friends.

Police Investigators have followed-up on various leads regarding Ashley’s disappearance, including processing a residence in the 1500 Block of Hedge Rd., as one of the places where Ashley was last reported to have visited.

On April 20, a missing and endangered person notification was issued for Gibson.

“Police are obviously very concerned for her well-being at this stage,” shared Investigations Lieutenant Dave Shaffer. “The reason or source of Ashley’s disappearance has not yet been discovered.  We’re working diligently to gather evidence leading up to her disappearance and do not want to be premature regarding her status,” Shaffer added.

Multiple people were reported to have been at the Hedge Rd. residence on the day of Ashley Gibson’s disappearance and Police are still looking to identify and interview a few of those individuals.

Police strongly urge anyone who may have seen Ashley or who may have seen or heard suspicious activity in or around that area on April 17 or after, to please come forward.
