Bristol Place and Garwood: Outreach Events

Bristol Place and Garwood: Outreach Events

Neighborhood Services and Public Works’ Engineering staff hosted an outreach event in the Bristol Place Neighborhood on April 23.  The purpose of the event was to update Bristol Place neighbors on Phase 1 activities of the Bristol Park Plan and also to provide updates on the Upper Boneyard Creek Drainage improvements.  Staff also walked door to door in both the Bristol Place and Garwood neighborhoods to provide informational about programs offered by the City and upcoming events of interest.  Staff were able to engage with over 25 residents and refer many to case management services provided by the Regional Planning Commission.
In addition to these outreach efforts on April 23, Neighborhood Services staff coordinated the Bristol/Garwood section of the Boneyard Creek cleanup. Sixteen volunteers from NSD, Farnsworth Group and Illini Rotaract Club participated at this site which was one of several different cleanup locations for the event. A total of 40 bags of trash, one bicycle, and a metal bathroom shelving unit were removed from the creek.
