Acknowledge a City Employee with a “Champaign TOAST”

In association with Public Service Recognition Week, the City of Champaign today announced a new way for the public to acknowledge the actions of a City employee who has performed above and beyond the call of duty.  Members of the public looking to recognize the exceptional service provided by a City staff member can quickly and easily do so by submitting a “Champaign TOAST” via the City’s website.

“TOAST stands for Thanks for your Outstanding Act of Service Today, and is a new way for the public to send a note of thanks or congratulations to a City employee,” reports Communications Manager Jeff Hamilton.  “We thought that launching this new option during Public Service Recognition Week would provide an easy way for the public to reach out and acknowledge any City employee whom they feel is doing great work and deserving of special recognition.”

To send a Champaign TOAST to a City employee, simply visit the City’s website  and complete the short form.  The submission will be reviewed and routed to the appropriate City employee and also shared with his/her supervisor.

“People appreciate being recognized for doing a superior job,” added Hamilton.  “We realize that the public may not know the name of the individual they want to acknowledge, and that’s OK.  Simply provide as much information as you can and we’ll work to get the message to the right person.”
