On May 2, 2016, at approximately 8:53 PM, the Columbia Police Department in Columbia, Missouri made an arrest of 25-year-old Donte D. Meeks of Champaign.
Meeks, who is one of two individuals Police were still seeking in the death investigation of Ashley Chemere Gibson was spotted by police at a local motel in Columbia, despite having altered his appearance. As officers approached Meeks, he fled the scene and after a short foot pursuit was taken into custody without further incident.
Meeks is one of six individuals charged in the Ashley C. Gibson Death Investigation for the offense of Dismembering a Human Body, a Class X Felony.
Police still seek 25-year-old Deundrea M. Weatherspoon of Champaign.
Of those arrested: 25-year-old Donte D. Meeks; 26-year-old Davion Hedrick; 28-year-old Randale Banks; 23-year-old Reginald Logan; and 19-year-old Javon Tate.
