I-74 Resurfacing between Mahomet and Champaign – Temporary Road Closure TONIGHT (Monday, June 6)
PARIS – The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that there will be an emergency closure of I-74 on Monday, June 6, 2016, beginning at 9:00 p.m. and lasting until 6:00 a.m Tuesday, June 7, 2016. Due to unforseen roadway conditions and in the best interest of safety to the traveling public, a decision was made to temporarily close the roadway to accomodate repairs. The closure will be for eastbound I- 74, beginning at mile marker 174 (Prairie View Road) near Mahomet and run through mile marker 179 (at I-57) in Champaign. Motorists should stay alert, follow the signs for the alternate route along US 150 and be cautious of increased traffic along the highway. Please slow down and use extreme caution while driving through all work zones.
