On July 7, nearly fifty people filled Council Chambers to hear the Library Director finalists make presentations and answer questions about why they are best suited for the job. The two finalists are Cynthia Fesemyer (Director, Columbus Public Library, Columbus, WI) and Donna Pittman (Interim Director and Development Director, Champaign Public Library). The event was televised live on CGTV and live streamed on CGTV Online. Prior to the event, the public was able to submit possible questions for the candidates. Following the event, the public was encouraged to send their comments about the candidates to [email protected]. These comments will be reviewed and considered by the Library Board of Trustees when as they deliberate about filling the Library Director vacancy. The finalists also participated in a number of meetings and interviews with various community stakeholders on July 7 and 8.
