Bristol Approved Demolition Contractors submitted bids to demolish 14 homes in Bristol Place on Friday, July 15, 2016. Bids were awarded to the lowest responsible bidder for each bid packet. This week, there were a total of seven bid packets issued. Fenter Machinery was the lowest bidder for three bid packets, Miller Enterprises was the lowest bidder for two bid packets, and ICD Ironhorse was the lowest bidder for two bid packets. Champaign Economic Restoration Endeavors, Inc. (C.E.R.E.) was the lowest bidder for one of the bid packets but did not submit the required form for an addendum and was disqualified. Once these homes are demolished, 39 of the 80 lots with structures will be cleared.
