Arrest Made in September 25 Shooting Investigation

On September 29, 2016 at approximately 10:15 PM, 18-year-old Robbie M. Patton of Champaign turned himself in to the Champaign County Jail for the offenses of First Degree Murder and Aggravated Battery with a Firearm.

Arrest warrants were issued for Patton on Tuesday, in connection with the September 25 shooting in the 300 Block of E. Green Street. That incident resulted in multiple gunshot victims and the death of George Korchev of Mundelein, IL. Bond on the warrant is set at $5,000,000.

 

Champaign Police Detectives have continued to investigate this incident, processing various information and evidence. As a result, Detectives developed information leading to the identity of Patton who is believed to be responsible for the shooting.

The Champaign Police Department would like to thank the Champaign County Street Crimes Task Force, Champaign County State’s Attorney’s Office and the United States Marshals Service-Great Lakes Fugitive Taskforce for their assistance during this investigation.
