Officer Westfield discussed dangerous new drugs that youth may encounter in their communities, the negative short and long term effects of drugs, and frightening real world examples.

Champaign Police Officer Jonathan Westfield is spending the week at Lincoln’s Challenge Academy conducting anti-bullying presentations. Several community members, including Champaign’s School Resource Officer Jonathan Westfield, participated in the annual African-American Read-In at Yankee Ride Elementary School. In honor of Black History Month, a group of community leaders were invited to read books to students and stress the importance of reading.
Officer Jonathan Westfield also served as a panelist for the TALK Foundation’s community forum on anti-bullying held at the Champaign Public Library on February 20th. The TALK Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for the safety and well-being of children in East Central Illinois and throughout the world.
Last week, Champaign Police officers Jonathan Westfield, Andre Davis, and Jeffrey Pickett attended two internship and career fairs at Eastern Illinois University and the University of Illinois at Springfield (UIS).
