Champaign Police Officer Katherine Thompson will represent the department at the University of Illinois Sociology Internship Fair on Friday, September 21, 2012, in Lincoln Hall. The purpose of the fair is to recruit college students for internships, primarily from the Sociology Department, but from other departments as well.

On July 30th, Police K-9 Officer, Kristina Haugen, and her dog “Solo”, conducted a K-9 demonstration for youth at the Orpheum Children’s Museum’s Zoology Camp. Haugen discussed the importance of having K-9 dogs in law enforcement and Solo’s role with solving crimes.
